Description

A TomatoFest customer, Ruth Smith, who used to garden in Scotland, wrote to advise me that she suspects that the name Ding Wall Scotty may have originated in a town in Scotland off the Cromarty Firth called Dingwall (The name means 'parliament field'). The town began sometime before AD 800 when Vikings settled there. I would not be surprised to find out that the tomato seeds came from an old Estate greenhouse near there and may have been brought here to America by an immigrant by the name of Ding Wall Scotty. Out TomatoFest seeds produce narrow, upright, heirloom plants producing clusters of 3 to 4, 2-inch, round, red tomatoes with rich flavors and just the right touch of acidity. A wonderful tomato!
