From Greece. Original seed was collected in 1996 by Sonja Steifel on the island of Santorini in Greece where it was commercially grown. Domati Santorini are unique products of the islands' climate. Seeds sent to Gary Ibsen of TomatoFest by George Venieris owner of Evmenia Luxury Cave Villa in Caldera Santorini who shared that Santorini tomatoes are historically grown without watering. Tall, indeterminate, regular leaf plants produce 1-2 oz., small flattened, oblate, slightly ribbed, bright-red fruits with very good, slightly-acidic flavors. This is a very good canning or market tomato. The tomatoes' sweet, brightly acidic flavor make for especially delicious tomato paste.
