Introduced by the USDA in 1931 under the name "Scarlet Topper". Re-named in 1932 in honor of F.J. Prichard, who developed it from a cross between "Marglobe", and "Coopers Special." Attractive small-med. sized, scarlet red fruits are smooth, thick walled, globe shaped and uniform with small seed pockets.
