One out of four heirloom tomato varieties developed by Dale Smith, Heinz
Canada tomato breeder in the 1980s. Seeds were sent to Gary Ibsen by
Kees Groenewegen, Manager of Operations for HeinzSeed for TomatoFest to
grow out and share. This open-pollinated tomato variety was developed in
Leamington Ontario when Heinz had breeding stations there many years
ago. This is a determinate, mid-season tomato variety that was developed
primarily for Eastern Canada  Seeds. This tomato variety has produced
very hearty, leafy plants in our Central California fields that yield
huge crops of 3�, bright-red, round, tomatoes. A very good canning
tomato, sauce and salad tomato.
