Carmel TomatoFest Frequently Asked Questions

A Celebration of Heirloom Tomato Varieties from Around the World

Carmel TomatoFest FAQ's

Q: Why don't you hold the TomatoFest for two days instead of only one?

A: We chose the TomatoFest to fall only on a Sunday because it was easiest for the chefs to participate considering the busy schedules at their restaurants.

Q: Can I bring my dog to the TomatoFest?

A: We are not permitted to allow dogs at the Carmel TomatoFest due to Health Dept. regulations.

Q: Does the TomatoFest have handicapped access for a tomato lover restricted to a wheelchair?

A: Yes, we have limited handicapped parking for your vehicle. We invite you to be in touch with us by emailing Candace for specific directions. The TomatoFest site is on well-groomed grass that is firm enough to make moving about by wheelchair comfortable and the activities are all available to wheelchairs.

Q: Is there parking nearby, I have difficulty walking longer distances.

A: Yes, there is parking along Valley Greens Drive near the TomatoFest site with shuttle busses to pick up and deliver our TomatoFest guests.

Q: What time should I plan to be there if the TomatoFest opens at 12:30PM?

A: To take full advantage of the food experience and other offerings you should plan to be in the waiting line by 11:30AM. Getting in line by Noon can assure you early entry to the TomatoFest when the gates open at 12:30PM. The line usually starts to form around 11AM. We feed you and entertain you while you are waiting in line. The waiting line has become a social event on it's own. I suggest allowing 20 minutes for parking and shuttle.

Q: Are there non-alcoholic beverages available for kids and those who do not enjoy wine or beer?

A: Yes, We have several vendors of healthy very enjoyable beverages.

Q: Can I purchase fresh Heirloom Tomatoes or heirloom tomato seeds to take home while at the TomatoFest.

A: Yes, there are many choices for you.
